Visiting this site. This site is hosted by DigitalOcean, LLC (United States) on a server in San Francisco, United States. That server records each request: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. This is used only to deliver the site and keep it secure, and is deleted after 14 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure website (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).
This site uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Its typefaces, images and videos come from its own server. Links to other websites load nothing until you click them.
Cookies. This site’s own pages set no cookies. If you close the cookie notice, your browser stores the entry “ss-notice” so the notice does not return. It contains no personal data.
Membership fees and form. To show the current membership fees, the home page and the membership page ask advancingfrontiers.org, the website of the Society’s conference, for them. The membership page also asks it for the current application form settings. This request sends your IP address to that site and to Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which protects it, and sends no cookies. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing correct fees and a working form (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks. When applications open and you send the form, Cloudflare sets one necessary cookie, __cf_bm, for 30 minutes, to block automated attacks. Membership applications are not open yet. Before they open, this notice will explain how application data is used.
